Halstead Grammar School Association looking for Alumni to help prepare Memorabilia Booklet
An association of the GRAMMER school is looking for former students to prepare a souvenir booklet.
Halstead Grammar School for Girls closed in 1975, 66 years after opening on Colchester Road.
And now, the association calls on all former students to come forward and share photos and memories of their time at school.
Former student Lynn Reeve said: “We are currently updating a booklet on Halstead Grammar School and looking for any memories, humorous or otherwise, of people who have been there who would be happy to post them, whether it be the first time – hand or something your mom, grandma, sister, or someone else said to you.
âWe hope to create the booklet, full of memories and stories about the school, to create a legacy of the school that has played an important role for many women in the area.
âAny memory of the 50s, 60s or 70s would be fantastic, but earlier anecdotes are also more than welcome.
“Were you part of a team or a play, which teachers did you prefer and why, what did you think about the uniform, the crimes and, of course, the school dinners.
“Our web page shows photos that we already have, but if you have any more, especially snapshots, that you would be happy to share, we would love to have copies.”
